Part 1 of 3

On the bus to Oslob  the hobbit couldn’t fix himself on his seat. The wide blue ocean a few meters from the highway was making him too excited. It was the Tingko Beach in Alcoy, a public beach and popular getaway for the locals.

After a few weeks, the curious traveller went back to see the beach. It was a Sunday when he took the yellow Ceres bus at Cebu’s Southbus Terminal. This time, it wasn’t a solo trip. He was with James and Ann, two good friends who also could not resist the call of the sea breeze. The bus left at 3:30AM and after about 4 hours on the road, they reached Alcoy, one of the quiet towns down South, some kilometers before the popular town of Oslob.

It was daybreak. The sight was beautiful. The sea was calm.

Take a bus to Oslob at the Southbus terminal.
The fare is less than P150 and travel time is 3.5 to 4 hours.
