The beach bum will surely love a trip to the edge of Cagayan Valley. Not only are there gorgeous islands but also a number of beaches perfect for the summer dip. While the sea is everywhere, however, not all beaches are made equal.

In the municipality of Sta Ana, a few minutes from San Vicente Port is the beautiful Anguib Beach. In getting there, ask the boatman to pass by the mangroves for a refreshing look at the green little trees. But, during the low tide, when the mangrove area is too shallow, there’s no option but to battle with the big waves.

The sea is admirable. Its color changes from light blue in one part and deep blue in another. The sea doesn’t sleep. Its waves don’t slap and gargle, they roar endlessly and make white frothy lines in the middle of the ocean. The wind whistles. And the milky white sand sparkles in the sun. Truly, Anguib Beach is worth a hobbit’s time. @
